About the Producer

Rumoured to be the birthplace of coffee drinking, Sidama is an Ethiopian region to the countries West. Coffee is said to have existed here since the 9th Century, contributing to over a thousand years of coffee history. More than half of Ethiopia’s coffee production is consumed domestically, showing just how much it surrounds their everyday life.

The Sidama region where this lot is produced sits in the fertile highlands of Rift Valley, south of Lake Awasa. The cool temperatures and wet conditions cause the coffee to ripen slowly, developing complex flavours and aromas distinctive of coffee from the region.

This cup opens with the aroma of soft brown sugar and spices. It is well rounded with floral notes of tea rose, a coating mouth-feel and subtle citrus acidity.
